VARTA Micro Innovation’s 100 micro batteries

Following successful realisation of 2 generations of single layer pouch prototype cells composed of advanced thin and flexible negative and positive electrodes with a nominal capacity of 60mAh, VARTA Micro Innovation continued its work on relevant parameters for upscaling which were defined and used for an optimized slurry preparation, electrode and cell production. As a result of that 100 thin film micro batteries were produced. Thanks to the flexible production process it was feasible to realise prototype cells in different sizes and capacities, thus tailoring the batteries for different applications and requirements of end-users.
